This Friday will be the first time in five years that I am a single lady for Valentine’s Day.
Rather then stay at home feeling sorry for myself, I tossed up the various options on what I could get up to while all my engaged and loved up besties are dining by candle light. I have in fact decided on a single’s valentine party in a secret location in Chelsea. Get Involved. There is a ‘Sexy Valentine’ costume theme and the invite clearly states ‘No Costume, No Entry!’ Costume dress is my guilty pleasure so I am overjoyed that I am ‘forced’ to dress up. I’ll be embracing all things red, velvet and lacy. I’m intrigued to read that those new to their parties will find ‘all the rumours are true’. There is also an over 21 year old’s policy…I’ve been promised this is just a normal party!
For those of you still in limbo, here are a few tips around what NOT to do on V Day:
1. Stay home, order cheap and nasty home delivery and down a bottle of red on your lonesome
2. Watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Juno or anything in-between
3. Email, text, call, ‘accidentally on purpose’ call, use Morse Code or send carrier pigeon to THE EX
4. Try on all your clothes from 5 years ago (that don’t quite fit anymore)
5. Think retail therapy is all you need so max out your credit card on crap you don’t need
